Back in Jan, DAPPER hosted the first SIVE (Storytelling in Virtual Environment) event, held at the Phoenix Digital Media Centre, Leicester. To date, much research and development in the area of IVEs has been concerned with technological developments – this event moved this forward, to share and develop practice and challenges relating storytelling and the participant experience. SIVE was a cross-sector event, bringing together key practitioners and organisations engaging with storytelling in immersive virtual environments from entertainment, corporate and creative sectors and throughout the day participants worked together to move beyond their own practice and try out new approaches and ideas in an environment that was both supportive and experimental. To prove how much fun was had in this engaging and (extremely) active environment, I've included photos below...

Time for experimenting with new participatory experiences...

Time for trying new things...

Time for developing ideas...

Time for sharing ideas...

Time for discussion...

And more.....
The day was developed in partnership with ZU-UK (http://zu-uk.com), an award winning theatre and digital arts company, specialists the development of meaningful interactive/participatory experiences.
SIVE2 is currently being planned for May 2017 - watch this space for more details!
