July saw the return of the annual DAPPer Intensive. The 2-day event saw artists and technologists working with digital in their practice come together to try things out and share ideas in a focused creative space, free from pre-determined objectives.
This year, practitioners worked in transdisciplinary teams to work across Interactive Media, Volumetric Capture and 360 Film. DAPPer participants included the artist filmmaker Ben Fredericks and choreographer Kerryn Wise. Kerryn used the Intensive as an opportunity to R&D new work in the critically supportive environment, and since then as created the finished piece Displaced (https://nearnow.org.uk/events/displace). Ben's most recent work work Playing God was shown as part of the Raindajnce Film Festival in September (http://www.benfredericks.co.uk/playing-god/).
